I joined Footworks at the age of 9 and ever since there was no looking back! I stayed with them right up until 18 and then I went on to continue my training at Bird College. I can safely say that without the help and guidance of my teachers at Footworks I would not have gained a place at my college of dreams or be pursuing my career within Musical Theatre as I am today.
I started off my time at Footworks as a naturally shy child. However, getting to explore my love of dance and Musical Theatre both in class and onstage with my friends helped my confidence grow tenfold throughout my time there.
The high level of ISTD training I received at Footworks laid a strong foundation of technique that has seen me well through my vocational training and into my professional career. There were also constant performance opportunities - from Festivals, to the footworks shows and Mayor’s Charity Concerts etc. - all of which provide invaluable experience to a young performer.
As well as technique and performance, there is always a big emphasis on FUN at Footworks because after all we all do it for the love and enjoyment we get from performing!
Many of the friends I made throughout my time at footworks have remained friends for life and I continue to feel the support from my footworks family well past graduating.

Footworks has been a part of my life for 20 years! Beginning with Susan and Kelly seeing something in the quiet girl who hated the limelight but was able to lose herself in dancing and not worry about anything. Continued encouragement allowed me to develop my love of dance, even now. My daughter now lives and breathes to dance and perform. Despite not finding it the easiest, her confidence has come on so much, she loves her lessons and has a confidence that I could only wish for her. She even did the choreography for her year 6 musical. Thank you to all the teachers at Footworks.

I never had any dance training before Footworks, and it's what led me to get a place at Urdang and to be where I am today, working for Disneyland Hong Kong. "My daughter Grace started with footworks back in January after moving dance school. Since moving she a flourished as a dancer and grown in confidence. Everyone at footworks has been extremely welcoming. Since joining Footworks Grace has had opportunities that have been opened up to her, she’s taken part in festivals and showcases and had fun making new friends as well as taking part in dance beats to raise money for charity. The teachers and staff have been extremely supportive and helpful and provided extra support when Grace has felt like she needed it. I couldn’t recommend Footworks enough it’s an amazing dance school, with amazing teachers, opportunities and children."
